GLOW CREATES MAGICAL MOMENTS FOR BABIES AND CARERS

The City of Melbourne's ArtPlay is set to launch GLOW by Threshold, a world-first digital experience to create meaningful moments and enhance connections between parents and carers with their babies.

Meaningful moments of life are embraced in this digital experience between parents and carers with their babies, featuring the voices of well-loved actors Miranda Tapsell and Zindzi Okenyo.

From creating a bath-time ritual, to a poetic reflection over a cup of tea or throwing a baby dance party, GLOW allows the listener to savour and treasure simple memories with their baby.

GLOW has been created by a group of artists who have considered the parents in their lives or reflected on their time as a parent.

ArtPlay is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary arts studio founded in 2004 that creates work by, for and with children. At ArtPlay, children explore their creativity and self-expression and co-create contemporary artistic experiences with professional artists.

GLOW contributor Sarah Lockwood said,

We hope that the moments in GLOW will linger for parents and carers. While each experience is just 3 to 8 minutes, they have a way of pausing time, of marking a moment and celebrating new life and the connection between carer and child.”

Counselling psychologist and GLOW participant Jessie Holt said,

At times, there is so much pressure to be ‘doing’ that it can make us lose sight of the deep value of ‘being’. GLOW intuitively reminded me of the power of being.”
