How to find time to workout and be social at the same time
Especially towards the end of the year it can always be a busy time of year to not only find time to workout however it can be difficult finding enough time to have a social life too! The beauty about keeping fit and active is that it can be done almost anywhere and it can be done with friends and family which makes it the perfect combination. Here are some tips from Ben Lucas, founder of Flow Athletic on how to find time to workout and be social:
Classes
A great way to keep in touch with friends whilst keeping active is to attend the same fitness classes. Enjoying a workout together followed by a coffee can be the perfect way to tackle two birds with one stone. Working out with friends can also be something you choose to do weekly or monthly making it the perfect reminder to catch up and stay fit together.
Walking
An easy, yet effective way of keeping fit and having a social life is going for a good old walk. Inviting a friend along for a walk with you can not only make the walk seem quicker, however provides you both with the perfect time to workout and catch up all at the same time. Depending on the weather you can even mix your walks up trying a new park or beach each week.
Play Dates
If you have kids and don’t have time to workout or catch up with friends amongst juggling your families schedule, a great tip could be organising a play date with your kids and their friends in a park or playground where you can workout with other mums whilst supervising the kids. This could be a one on one workout with a friend or even an outdoor group workout with a trainer.
Try something new
Inviting a friend along to try something new whether it be a spin class, yoga class or a class that neither of you have been too – the fun of the unknown can be the perfect opportunity to schedule some time with a friend to workout and catch up with a healthy brunch to follow.
