Mum & Baby

To the brave and ever-patient mums who freely embrace sensory play at home, we salute you! You’re out there, letting your little ones explore and live their best mess-making lives one mud pie or glitter explosion at a time, and somehow, you’re still smiling. For the rest of us mere mortals, who develop an eye twitch just at the thought of letting our child loose near our soft furnishings with anything remotely resembling slime, there is an alternative. That’s right, no more ‘mummy guilt’ for not knowing (or caring) how to whip up a batch of organic, toxin-free, vegan friendly, edible play dough at a moment’s notice. You can give your child the opportunity to engage in the fun (and chaos) of sensory play without making your home look like a crime scene, by enrolling your child in sensory classes!

Baby Music and Movement Activities Without the Stress

Making Rainbows is a music, movement and sensory play program designed for parents to participate in fun, educational activities with their child without the stress! They carefully plan sensory activities that benefit the development of your child, so all you have to do is enjoy the special bonding time and have fun with your child. Of course, the other benefit of moving sensory play from your living room into a classroom, (besides the qualified facilitators, we mean) is the social aspect. With ample time given after each class to chat to the other parents, you’ll probably both make some new friends too!

Sensory Activities for Toddlers and Babies Without the Mess

Founded by an early childhood specialist, Making Rainbows baby sensory classes and toddler sensory classes are planned by a qualified educator and endorsed by an occupational therapist. Props and resources are carefully chosen to ensure that all activities are purposeful and beneficial to your child’s development — fine motor, gross motor and social. The nurturing, relaxed stress-free environment (where you don’t have to worry about your child finger-painting the walls, doors and floors) allows you to interact, bond and learn with your child. Besides, when you weigh up the affordable price of the class against the cost of dying the grey hairs that pop up every time you contemplate setting up a craft table in your living room — it’s a no-brainer!

If you love the idea of sensory play but would rather avoid the clean-up (and extortionate vet bill when your dog tries to hoover up the kinetic sand), take yourself and your baby, toddler or preschooler along to a sensory class! You’ll never look back!
